Gumball 3000 announced that the 27th annual rally would run from June 5 through June 10, 2026, tracing a route from Miami to Mexico City under the theme “Road to the World Cup.” The event, which is free for spectators to attend, brought together more than 100 supercars and an international roster of celebrities, athletes, musicians, and influencers from over 40 countries.
Cooper, who drove the rally alongside his wife, Grammy-winning rapper EVE, described the route as a “pioneering adventure through the US and Mexico” that combined “supercars, concerts and the football World Cup” into one packed week, according to a press release from Hard Rock International, which hosted the rally’s Miami launch at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood.

The Car: A 1,000-HP Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG
Rodriguez’s ride for the rally came courtesy of Daily Driven Exotics (DDE), the supercar content team known for its Gumball 3000 entries. DDE confirmed on its official Facebook page that it handed Rodriguez the keys to a 1,000-horsepower Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG built as a street car for the rally — a heavily modified version of Mercedes’ gullwing-doored grand tourer, tuned well beyond the roughly 563–583 horsepower the SLS AMG produced from the factory.
The car had at least one mechanical scare along the route. According to MotorBiscuit, the SLS AMG developed a “wobble” during the drive after three wheel bolts came loose. Rodriguez, riding along with the DDE crew, initially misidentified the bolts — calling them “sockets” and “nuggets” — before being corrected. The team had reportedly packed spare bolts in the car as a precaution, having dealt with the same issue on previous rallies, and was able to make the repair on the spot and continue the drive.
A Rally Built Around the World Cup
Timing the rally’s finish to coincide with the World Cup was central to Gumball 3000’s plans for 2026. Per the event’s official site, Gumballers who completed the route received tickets to the tournament’s opening match, tying the rally’s finale directly to the start of football’s biggest global event.
