UNBOTHERED Danica

Unbothered After the … she retired from racing, walked away from the drama, and built a life that doesn’t need anyone’s permission. A breakup feud, a foot full of glass, and a golf trip that broke the internet — and through it all, one word keeps coming up.
Unbothered in Amalfi
While her ex-boyfriend was on a podcast calling her a liar, Danica Patrick was dancing in St. Tropez.
The timeline is almost cinematic in its contrast. Aaron Rodgers sat down for a scorched-earth interview, accusing Patrick of peddling a false narrative about their relationship. Her response? Instagram photos from the Amalfi Coast — clinking wine glasses, dancing with friends, and cozy shots with a boyfriend whose identity she still hasn’t publicly confirmed.
She went public with the relationship back in December, posting from a luxury hotel in Scottsdale. Since then, she’s kept the details close while keeping the camera rolling. The message, intentional or not, lands the same way: life goes on, and it looks pretty good.
Unbothered on the Fairway
Before the Amalfi photos, there was New Zealand. Patrick and her girlfriends flew halfway around the world for a friend’s 40th birthday golf trip — and the golf internet lost its mind.
Photos of the group having visible, audible fun on the course went viral. Purists grumbled. Patrick’s response was pure Danica: a laughing Instagram caption admitting her “inability to take golf seriously,” joking that her friend might get kicked out of her club, and confessing she’d tried to like martinis but remains “just a wine (and espresso martini) girl.”
The fans, overwhelmingly, took her side. The consensus: if they weren’t holding up play, the outrage was manufactured. Golf courses, as one defender put it, are dirt and grass — not churches.

Unbothered Under the Knife
The strangest chapter starts with a wine glass and ends in an operating room. For roughly a year, Patrick had been walking around with a shard of glass lodged in her foot — a fragment she believes came from a broken wine glass.
The injury produced one of the great medical paradoxes: she could walk in high heels on a Fox broadcast set but couldn’t walk barefoot across her own floor. Her doctor told her the shard was hitting bone. A hard-dancing trip to Ibiza made it worse every day until surgery became unavoidable.
Her announcement was characteristically casual — “just a casual Tuesday morning surgery” — followed by a hospital-bed selfie and the deadpan review: “the propofol wasn’t so bad.” She even photographed the culprit next to a ruler and scored it: wine glass 1, Danica 0.
Recovery hasn’t been seamless. Weeks later she was still in enough pain to skip heels at a wedding. But the tone never wavered — pain documented with the same wry humor as everything else.
Unbothered After the Engine
The through-line of Patrick’s post-racing life is reinvention without apology. She didn’t fade after leaving NASCAR and IndyCar — she moved into the broadcast booth, joining Sky Sports’ Formula 1 coverage and Fox’s motorsports team, including the Indianapolis 500 and IndyCar’s Freedom 250.
It’s a second career built on the same traits that defined the first: directness, preparation, and a refusal to soften her opinions for the room. Her broadcasting has drawn both praise and fire — the Freedom 250 appearance generated real backlash from viewers who didn’t like her on-air politics. She absorbed it the way she absorbs everything else: visibly, publicly, and without retreating.
Unbothered by the Ex
The Rodgers saga deserves its own chapter because neither party will let it close. In a 2025 interview, Patrick described the relationship as emotionally abusive, saying it “wore me down to nothing” and that Rodgers left “a trail of blood” when they split in 2020.
Rodgers’ 2026 rebuttal was blistering. He called the “monster partner” framing fiction, described Patrick as depressed and the relationship as devoid of intimacy, and recounted the Malibu house conversation — his refusal to buy it together — as the beginning of the end. Counseling followed. Then COVID locked them in the same house.
There is no neutral account of what happened behind closed doors. What there is: two people telling fundamentally incompatible stories, six years after the breakup, with no sign of either standing down.
And through every headline — the feud, the surgery, the golf-course pearl-clutching — Patrick’s playbook hasn’t changed. Don’t explain. Don’t apologize. Post the vacation photo. Life, unbothered, goes on.
